Chiltern Railways marks Remembrance Day 2024 by unveiling poppy train at London Marylebone Station

Chiltern Railways has marked Remembrance Day 2024 by unveiling a poppy design on the side of one of its trains to honour veterans and military personnel.

The train unveiling took place following Chiltern’s Remembrance service at London Marylebone Station today (Friday 8 November).

Members of the Royal British Legion, politicians and railway partners took part in a two-minute silence and the laying of wreaths followed by performances by choirs from St Edwards School and Gateway Academy.

The poppy design on the train (Class 68 Locomotive) was then unveiled on platform 1, featuring several poppies and the words “Remembrance Day 2024” to honour the armed forces.

Richard Allan, Managing Director of Chiltern Railways, said:

“It Is important to mark Remembrance Day and honour our armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the past and present.

“Several Remembrance services are taking place across the Chiltern network so our colleagues and customers can pay tribute to veterans and serving military personnel.”

Chiltern Railways is also offering free travel for veterans and military personnel to attend Remembrance services this weekend. More information can be viewed here.
