National Rail Awards 2025

Leamington Spa wins Highly Commended award at National Rail Awards

Leamington Spa Station has been Highly Commended in the Medium Station of the Year category at the prestigious National Rail Awards.

The Warwickshire station - which is a major stop on the Chiltern Main Line between London and the West Midlands - has a strong community presence which contributes meaningfully to the enhancement of the station and its local areas.

The station has Art-Deco style waiting rooms with an elegant outdoor area which is well looked after by community groups. In addition, there is a coronation corner and even a piano which customers can play on platform 3.  Just this week, new murals celebrating the 200th anniversary of the railway were unveiled near platforms 3 and 4.

Chiltern Railways was recognised at the awards alongside Leamington Spa station adopters whose work is crucial for the upkeep of the renowned station gardens.

Dorridge was also shortlisted on the evening in the Small Station of the Year category.

Tony Baxter, Operations Director at Chiltern Railways, who attended the awards, said:

“I am proud of the work by our colleagues and community partners which make a real difference to Leamington Spa Station.

“It was wonderful to be joined by colleagues and some of our station adopters to see the station recognised on the national stage.”

The operator was presented the award at Grosvenor House in London on Wednesday 17 September.
