Hop aboard for an Easter day out with National Trust tea and train offer

The railway, canals and historic houses of Warwickshire have joined forces to reward sustainable travel this Easter with a complimentary cup of tea.

Thanks to a partnership between Network Rail’s Central route, the National Trust, Chiltern Railways, West Midlands Railway and waterways charity Canal & River Trust, passengers can soak up the beauty of spring while enjoying a free hot drink when travelling by train to Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House.

From now until 1 June 2025, visitors who take the train from Birmingham Moor Street to Lapworth Station can present their same-day train ticket at the on-site café of either property to receive a free regular tea or coffee.

Both National Trust properties are within two miles of Lapworth Station, on the Chiltern main line, directly accessible from Birmingham Moor Street. Visitors can embrace nature by walking to either destination using the provided walking routes—reducing their carbon footprint while staying active.

Visitors can also easily access two of England's outstanding canals from Lapworth station and see for themselves the interesting sights of the Lapworth Flight of locks on the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal and Kingswood Junction where this waterway joins together with the Grand Union Canal.

“As the UK celebrates 200 years of the birth of the modern railway this year, what better way to mark the occasion than by stepping back in time at Packwood House or Baddesley Clinton.”

"Travelling by rail gives visitors a chance to start enjoying their day out as soon as they set off, taking in the scenery along the route to Lapworth before a rejuvenating walk to Packwood or Baddesley.”
