Chiltern Railways customers reminded of upcoming line closures due to engineering works this weekend

Customers travelling with Chiltern Railways are being reminded of major engineering works affecting journeys on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September.

Due to planned engineering works across the weekend, the lines will be closed for improvement works between both High Wycombe and Haddenham & Thame Parkway and also between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury.

Journeys through the affected areas will involve a replacement bus service and will take longer than usual.

Rail replacement buses will operate in both directions between:

  • Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North
  • High Wycombe - Princes Risborough - Haddenham & Thame Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North
  • High Wycombe - Saunderton - Princes Risborough - Little Kimble - Aylesbury
  • Princes Risborough - Monks Risborough

Customers travelling between London Marylebone and stations to Haddenham & Thame Parkway should travel via High Wycombe.

Customers should travel via Aylesbury Vale Parkway if:

  • They are travelling between London Marylebone and Bicester Village or Bicester North
  • They are travelling between London Marylebone and stations to Oxford or Birmingham

An enhanced service of two trains per hour will operate between London Marylebone and stations to Aylesbury Vale Parkway for most of the weekend.

Meanwhile, London Marylebone is closed until 10:35am on Sunday 1 September. Customers travelling before this time are advised to use connecting services from West Ruislip on the London Underground Central Line and Metropolitan Line services. Additionally, late night trains on Saturday and early morning trains on Sunday between Banbury and Bicester will be replaced by buses.

Customers are advised to allow extra time for their journey, book tickets in advance and check their journey before travelling. Further details can be found on the Chiltern Railways website.
