Chiltern Railways warns of engineering works taking place on 11th and 12th January

Chiltern Railways has advised customers travelling on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th January 2020 that the line between London Marylebone and Wembley Stadium/Harrow-on-the-Hill is closed all day due to engineering works. As a result, no Chiltern Railways trains will operate in or out of Marylebone and all journeys will be affected.

This work forms part of Britain’s Railway Upgrade Plan and includes Network Rail track improvement to increase the reliability of the rail network.

A heavily amended timetable will be in operation and journey times will be considerably longer than usual and passengers may have to change trains to reach their destination. Passengers travelling between London and Oxford, Banbury and stations to Birmingham are advised to travel to/from London Paddington via Oxford using Great Western Railway services in both directions. Passengers requiring assistance are also advised to travel via Oxford with Great Western Railway to and from London due to West Ealing station not being fully accessible.

Customers wishing to travel to Bicester Village are advised to travel to/from London Paddington via Oxford using Great Western Railway and then change onto a Chiltern Railways service to Bicester Village.

Customers are advised to:

  • Allow extra time for their journey
  • Check their journey before travelling
  • Purchase tickets in advance from our website or via the Chiltern app to save time at stations and guarantee the best value fare.
