Chiltern Railways updates customers after RMT London Underground strike suspension
Customers travelling with Chiltern Railways are being advised to check their journeys following the suspension of industrial action on the London Underground by the RMT union.
Members of the ASLEF and RMT unions recently announced their intention to stage industrial action on the London Underground on different days between Friday 01 November and Saturday 16 November. Today (01 November), members of the RMT union have suspended their industrial action.
As a result of the late-notice cancellation of the industrial action, the advertised Chiltern Railways amended timetable will remain in place on Tuesday 05 and Wednesday 06 November. Chiltern Railways plans to resume a usual weekday timetable from Thursday 07 November. Customers should check their entire journey, including any ticket acceptance arrangements, before they travel.
A daily breakdown of the impact to Chiltern Railways’ services across the period is as follows:
- Saturday 02 and Sunday 03 November - Engineering works are in place between Great Missenden and Aylesbury all day on both days. Rail replacement bus services will operate connecting with trains to/from London Marylebone at Beaconsfield.
- Monday 04 November – Normal rail service between Aylesbury and London.
- Tuesday 05 November and Wednesday 06 November - No Chiltern services will operate between London Marylebone and Great Missenden. A limited service will operate between Great Missenden and Aylesbury/Aylesbury Vale Parkway. London Underground Metropolitan Line services are planned to operate to and from Amersham on these days and a Chiltern Railways rail replacement bus service will provide a connection between Great Missenden and Amersham.
- Thursday 07 November and Friday 08 November – Chiltern Railways plan to resume a usual weekday timetable from Thursday 07 November.
