Chiltern Railways to operate special Boxing Day service between London and Oxfordshire
Customers can travel by rail to take advantage of Boxing Day sales between London and Oxfordshire this year as Chiltern Railways is running a special service on Thursday 26 December.
On a day when the majority of the country’s rail network will be closed, shopping outlets such as Bicester Village and the London Designer Outlet at Wembley Park will be accessible by rail. Two trains per hour will carry customers from stations between London Marylebone and Oxford Parkway to destinations along the route. There will be over 30,000 seats available on Chiltern services throughout the day.
Stopping at key destinations including Wembley Stadium and Bicester Village, the service will be in operation between 8am and 9pm.
The stops along the route will be:
London Marylebone, Wembley Stadium, Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Princes Risborough, Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Bicester Village and Oxford Parkway.
In addition, car parking is free at all of the stations mentioned which Chiltern is serving on Boxing Day, with the exception of London Marylebone and Wembley Stadium where there are no Chiltern-managed car parks.
Michael Stewart, Commercial and Customer Strategy Director at Chiltern Railways, said:
“I am delighted that we can run two trains an hour in both directions between London and Oxfordshire on Boxing Day. There are some great shopping destinations along the route, including at Bicester Village, and free parking will also be available at some of our stations.
“Journey planners have been updated so customers can check their journeys ahead of Boxing Day as an amended timetable is in place and last trains will be earlier than usual.”
