Chiltern Railways Leaf Fall timetable starts on Monday 5th October for customers in Aylesbury
Chiltern Railways’ Leaf Fall timetable will run from Monday 5th October until mid-December and will impact customers travelling to London Marylebone from Aylesbury via Amersham and Aylesbury via Princes Risborough.
During this period, customers on the Aylesbury – Amersham – London Marylebone line are advised that trains to London will depart a few minutes earlier than normal, while services on the Aylesbury via Princes Risborough line may arrive into London a few minutes later than scheduled.
Throughout Autumn wet leaves fall on the rails and when trains pass over them, it creates a slippery layer on the track. This in turn can make it harder for trains to accelerate and brake effectively and in order to run a safe service, drivers need to pull out of stations more slowly and brake much earlier for signals and stations which can lead to slightly longer journey times.
Customers travelling to and from Aylesbury should check train times prior to their journey and passengers are reminded that they should:
- Travel during quieter times where possible,
- Go online or download the Chiltern app to access the latest information and to book tickets,
- Use contactless payments and avoid paying with cash in stations,
- Keep a safe distance from passengers and staff in stations and onboard trains,
- Wear a face covering when at stations and travelling on public transport if you can,
- Regularly wash your hands before and after your journey,
- Please stay home if you feel unwell.
