Chiltern Railways’ customers reminded of upcoming timetable change
Chiltern Railways’ customers are being reminded of a national timetable change which comes into effect this month.
To prepare for newer trains which the operator will introduce on the network in 2026, there will be changes to a number of services from Sunday 14 December.
In addition, there will be adjustments to some services which stop at Stourbridge Junction and Kings Sutton, amongst a few other weekday and weekend amendments.
The weekend changes include:
- On Saturdays, the 7.14am Birmingham Moor Street to London Marylebone service will start from Stourbridge Junction instead at 6.44am
- Every service running north to Birmingham Moor Street will stop at Warwick, with six additional Warwick stops on Saturdays and two on Sundays
The weekday changes include:
- In the evening, the 4.37pm and 6.37pm departures from London will be extended through to Stourbridge Junction. The 6.37pm departure from London will no longer stop at Hatton and Lapworth – the stations will now be added to the 7.06pm Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street service instead
- A few evening departures (5.07pm and 6.07pm) from London Marylebone will end in Birmingham instead of running through to Stourbridge. Customers travelling to Stourbridge Junction will need to change at Birmingham Moor Street to connect
- Some of the trains booked to serve Kings Sutton will change in order to accommodate the introduction of newer trains
Michael Stewart, Commercial and Customer Strategy Director at Chiltern Railways, said:
“Train timetables are changed nationally every six months to improve the overall function of the railway and adjustments are made to benefit the entire network.
“As we prepare to introduce newer trains, which will offer 10,000 additional seats on our network from the end of 2026, we have made some adjustments to our loco-hauled services.
“There will also be some amendments to Kings Sutton, Warwick and Stourbridge Junction services, and I advise customers to check their journeys from Sunday 14 December.”
