Bicester North Station car park refurbishment to commence next week

The refurbishment of the upper car park at Bicester North Station will start next week (Tuesday 26 August).

As part of a major £3.8million investment from Chiltern Railways, the life expired upper deck at Bicester North Station car park will be replaced by a modern ground level car park. As a result, sections of the upper car park will be closed from next week and are planned to reopen in spring 2026.

Chiltern is also reopening the lower (Woodyard) car park at the station next week to offer additional parking capacity during the construction works.

It is expected that the Bicester North car park will be full on peak commuting days including Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from September. Customers are advised to use Bicester Village car park if travelling towards London Marylebone.

Zach Bailey, Regional Growth Manager at Chiltern Railways, said:

“We thank customers for their patience while works are ongoing to install a new, refurbished car park at Bicester North. The programme of works is being delivered in phases to ensure we can provide as much car parking capacity as possible.

“If you are unable to park at Bicester North and require trains towards London, we advise you to park at Bicester Village Station.”

Chiltern will be holding a drop-in session at Bicester North on Wednesday 10 September between 4pm and 6.30pm where customers or residents can ask questions about the project.

The finished project will provide a total of 365 spaces at the station. The work is expected to be completed in spring 2026.
